Montgomery County Women's Center welcomes new board members

Among the center's accomplishments noted by Cox in the release are the construction of a community center at Reaching Pines and the consolidation of its administrative offices. According to the release, Cox was on the YMCA board for six years and served as treasurer and president of the Interfaith Center of The Woodlands during the time it was building a new school. Other honors include the Martin Luther King Drum Major award in 1998 in recognition of his community work and being named a Hometown Hero in 2000, the first year of the The Woodlands Hometown Hero Awards. According to the release, the center's services include safe shelter, crisis intervention, counseling, legal and support services to victims/survivors of family violence, sexual assault, stalking and abuse in Montgomery County and surrounding counties.
