Next time you pass a big construction site inside Loop 610 and someone asks what’s being built there, say apartments. You’re almost certain to be right. Across the Houston area, about 9,500 new units are under construction. More than half are inside the loop or near the Galleria, a new report from CBRE shows. Rents are up more than seven percent over the past two years. Tenants pay the most in the Montrose/Museum District and just inside the West Loop and Greenway Plaza, the report said.
